Drawing/ Painting Class 10-12

Elective: ½ credit    
One Semester                 

Prerequisite: Art 1
Restrictions: Limited to 18 students

In this course, students may choose to spend the semester tracking through a drawing course or a painting course.  Those who choose drawing will experience a wide variety of drawing methods and techniques including pencil, colored pencil, marker, and charcoal/pastel.  Shading, along with light and shadow, is explained on how it can help make drawings look more three-dimensional and realistic.   Those who choose painting will experience both watercolor and acrylic painting techniques in both abstract and realistic works.  Ideas of both color and mixing will be explained on how to make a visual impact with works of art.  Students can  take this class for credit more than once by tracking through the other discipline.
