Welcome to Mr. Tim Watts' Website!
Hello everyone! I am Mr. Tim Watts. I have been teaching at Cathedral since 2017. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2017, where I earned my B.A. in Mathematics Teaching. I have taught in a variety of schools, including Dakota Meadows Middle School and Loyola High School in Mankato, Eden Prairie High School in Eden Prairie, and Instutito Tepayac Campus Xcaret in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I am originally from Shakopee, MN and graduated from Shakopee High School in 2013.
Currently, I teach Analytic Pre-Calculus, Geometry, Algebra & Trigonometry, and Robotics. I also coach the Cathedral Knowledge Bowl team (since 2017), the Cathedral Robotics Team (since 2018), and I am the advisor for the Cathedral Chess Club (since 2017).
I am excited to be a positive force in the lives of my students and assist them in preparing for their life after high school. My education philosophy is best described in this quote by Jean Piaget: "the goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men [and women] who are capable of doing new things."
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family (from Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska), continuing to learn about the world around me, and spending time at my family's cabin up in Grey Eagle, MN during the summer.
I'm available before school starting at 7:30 AM and usually after school till 3:45 PM. I also available by appointment, so come talk to me if you have questions. I will try to accommodate you as much as possible.
